Old Westover Parish Cemetery
Charles City County, Virginia

(the previous paragraph I had written about this site was plagiarized and put on another website, along with some of the photos being taken and passed off as their own-not cool).
This was the original site of the Westover Parish Church. The church here was built in the 1630s, and abandoned about 100 years later for the current Westover Parish Church. Buried here are some early prominent Virginians, including William Byrd I; Evelyn Byrd, daughter of William Byrd II(who is said to haunt several nearby plantation homes); Benjamin Harrison III; and Captain William Perry who died in 1637 and is said to have the 3rd oldest original tombstone in America(though it isn't quite readable any longer-there is a very legible 1655 marker at the Old Yorke Parish Church site near Yorktown).

Location: Hwy 5, down a short path from the Westover Plantation house
Visited: Feb 2003

I have no connection to this cemetery, I simply photographed it while visiting and wished to share the photos.
