One of the four Methodist Episcopal Churches in Charles City County that were merged into one, the others being Charles City Chapel, Salem ME, and Mt Pleasant. Marker says: "This stone, dedicated June 10, 1951, is erected on the site of Micah Methodist Episcopal Church. The first M.E. church of Charles City County and presided over by Bishop Francis Asbury the first M.E. Bishop of America. The original building erected about 1792 served the congregation until 1897 when the building was razed and replaced by a new one. Worship services were held in this building until 1948 at which time the four M.E. churches of Charles City County merged in the Memorial Methodist Church located near the county seat."
