Lafayette Meeks Grave
Appomattox County, Virginia

'Lafayette W Meeks, son of Fransis and Maria Meeks, born March 2, 1843 and died in the defence[sic] of his country October 4, 1861 at Fairfax Court House Va. He was a member of the Appomattox Rangers, in which Company he served faithfully in the battles of Bull Run and Manassas.'

Meeks died of Typhoid Fever at the age of 18. His father owned a store in the town nearby.
