Henderson Grave site
Sumner County, Tennessee

The town of Hendersonville in Sumner County was named for William Henderson. He was a Revolutionary War soldier who came to Sumner County in 1790. He served as the town's first postmaster. His grave was about 100 yards south of the main road here in a small cemetery. The stones disappeared some time around 1910 and the spot is now a office complex.

Location: Near the intersection of Sanders Ferry Rd and Hwy 31E
Visited: Oct 2005
