Bakers Creek Cemetery
Maryville, Blount County, Tennessee

Historic church and cemetery. Burial place of 5 Revolutionary War soldiers: Andrew Kennedy, Magnus Tullock, Samuel Henry, Samuel Thompson, and Thomas Montgomery(the last 2 I did not find their markers). Also a War of 1812 solder, Charles Norwood, and a number of Civil War soldiers, Union and Confederate. The final resting place of the mother of Tennessee Governor, Sam Houston. The land for the church was given by Samuel Henry.

BAKERS CREEK CHURCH

This Presbyterian church was established in 1786. Its first pastor was the Rev. Gideon Blackburn who served an extensive circuit in the area. Elizabeth Paxton Houston, mother of Sam Houston, is buried here.

CW casualty-and it turns out that
Samuel Henry(right), is his great-
grandfather.
I am not certain where or how Kerr died
