| This small Confederate Cemetery is located in Marion, which is just northeast of Meridian, Mississippi. All 170 of the markers state that they are "Unknown Confederate Soldier[s]". There is one flat marker with a name on it, placed seemingly randomly near the back. The name is George W Glasscock, of Alabama and company C of their 31st regiment. The soldiers buried here mostly died from disease in the hospital in Marion. Not far from here, in the town of Meridian at Rose Hill Cemetery, is another Confederate mass grave of soldiers who died in local hospitals. |
