GENEALOGY of the
CROCKETTS and McGAVOCKS
in WILLIAMSON COUNTY

DISCLAIMER: I am not related in any way that I am aware of to these families. I have only included the most basic of information here-this page is simply to show the relationships of the people found amongst three cemeteries I have visited(and two I have plans to visit)- Crockett Cemetery in Brentwood, TN; McGavock Cemetery in Franklin, TN and McGavock Cemetery in Wytheville, VA. The two I hope to visit soon are the McGavock Cemetery at the Midway Plantation and the Crockett Springs Cemetery in Brentwood, TN.

NOTE: Not all family members are listed, ONLY those who are found in these cemeteries and in the relationships I am matching up. I do add the lineage of the famous "Davy" Crockett to show his relationship to these Crocketts as well.

DISCLAIMER: Just in case you missed reading it at the top, I am in NO way related to these families. The reason for doing this? I research Revolutionary War soldiers buried in the county and surrounding counties where I live in Tennessee. I had visited the McGavock Cemetery at the Carnton house in Franklin many times. On one trip to visit family in Virginia, I happened to stop at a cemetery that was visible from the road and had seen many times. At first I found it interesting that the family was McGavock and there was a Revolutionary War Soldier there, but I was even more fascinated once I learned of the relationships between them and the McGavocks in Franklin. Strange indeed to find family in a random cemetery in another state! When I started the research to match the people in the two cemeteries, I began noticing the Crocketts popping up. I had also done some research on Andrew Crockett, Revolutionary Soldier, so I did a little more to find the connections(including his connection to the famous "Davy Crockett"), and I wanted to put them here for the reader to see.

Not all of the info shown here is complete, but most of it can be found somewhere on the internet-I just put these two families together on the same page for those who may be looking for those connections! I just hope I got the connections right-some of the names and places can get quite confusing.
