Welcome to Kimshockey.com
A photo scrapbook covering many areas, from the many road trips I've taken throughout the southeast.
Civil War sites, cemeteries, national and state parks, scenic roads, zoos, big cities and small towns, from beautiful to unusual!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate
And though I oft have passed them by
A day will come at last when I
Shall take the hidden paths that run
West of the Moon East of the Sun

Update: June 8, 2009

School is out now, and summer is here. Daughter got the cast off of her arm just in time to go to camp. I was a nervous wreck the whole week she was gone. I could not concentrate on anything and mindlessly played World of Warcraft, counting down the minutes until she would be home.
Now that she is home, summer opens before us like a blank journal. So many things that could fill it. Of course, with so many pitfalls in the last few weeks, most of our time will be spent very close to home.

June 6 we took a drive along Highway 41 south to Monteagle and University of the South. Many beautiful photos will hopefully be added soon from that trip. Check out the "What's New" section to see when I add new groups of photos!

Update: May 14, 2009

Things have been hectic the past few weeks. My daughter broke her arm and we had 2 computers crash-all within 24 hours. April 10 saw an EF4 tornado strike Murfreesboro, just about 6 miles south of us. And it has been raining nearly every day since then.

I've been working on getting all of my digital photos into catagories before I begin the html work. Thousands of photos to resize, crop, adjust and then hundreds of pages of html to write and organize.

Update: week of March 29-April 4

Getting back into swing of things. Blogging a lot, especially photos. Spent most of the week completely re-doing the Rutherford County, Tennessee cemetery page-took probably close to 20 hours to finish over 4 days(no script, all html done line by line by hand, sigh...).

Not feeling well. Got out Saturday to visit 1 local newly found cemetery, Kirk-Nisbett off Joe B Jackson Pkwy.

AS OF APRIL 6, 2009-relinked cemeteries via the SUBJECT section

Update: week of March 22-28

Vacation this past week. We took a trip to East Tennessee, drove some scenic roads. We visited the Nashville Zoo and the Adventure Science Center. Played a lot of World of Warcraft.

I am attempting to completely overhaul this site. I am inspired to work on it again though it is probably going to be very different than it was. I am using the blogs linked to the left to add more frequent updates, but eventually everything(I hope) will be added here.

AS OF MARCH 25, 2009-NOTHING IS ADDED OR LINKED! All old pages and photos are being removed and redone

Explanation of domain name...

Well, ok then! when I bought the domain name many years ago, I had originally planned on this being all about hockey, including the many, many photos I have taken from years of hockey games I have attended. And my name is Kim, so it was "Kim's Hockey"....kimshockey. The historical and vacation photos however have taken over, to the point where I don't even have any hockey on here at the moment! But the name remains the same.
